As we started planning the OTA Sessions, we came to agreement on one fact very quickly: you can’t throw a world-changing event in an average conference setting. Fortunately for the OTA Sessions, Sioux Falls has a recently renovated jewel set conveniently in its downtown – The Orpheum Theater.
The Orpheum Theater opened in 1913 as a vaudeville house and now seats 688. The elegant and beautifully preserved theatre served in this capacity until 1954, when the Community Playhouse group acquired the Orpheum for its home. As you can see by looking here (http://orpheum.sfarena.com/orpheum/seating), there’s not a bad seat in the house.
Known for its superb acoustics, the theater receives over 100,000 visitors each year, and the events there include plays, concerts, community events and private rentals. This diversity of events is clear the week of the OTA Sessions with “country outlaw” star David Allan Coe owning the stage the night before OTA.

The Orpheum is such a great facility. We’ve been to numerous events at this venue. It doesn’t matter what the reason is for going, I just love being there.
They did a great job with the renovation. I’m looking forward to getting to spend a whole day there with some facinating people.
